Rob qualified in 1999 with the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA) and then the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor (RICS) in 2000 and has always worked within the residential property field, working firstly in large corporate surveying practices of Countrywide and Colleys Surveyors prior to the inception of the company in early 2007.

He provides detailed pre-acquisition advice in the form of RICS Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys, implementing his extensive experience and understanding of residential property construction and pathology. He has been providing this advice within the west London area over the past 15 years. He also provides Market Valuation advice for Inheritance Tax Purposes, Capital Gains Tax liability, Matrimonial matters and also Shared Ownership alongside providing Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCA) for insurance purposes for both individual property and also portfolio’s as an RICS Registered Valuer.

He also provides professional advice on Party Wall matters and is a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. Rob acts on behalf of both Building Owners and Adjoining Owners in assessing proposed works, preparing the relevant Notices, inspecting the property, preparing schedules of condition and serving the Party Wall Awards in accordance with the Party Wall etc Act 1996. He has been lead surveyor on both individual schemes and large phased development projects.

Prior to joining the company Michael spent over seven years within the London offices of GL Hearn and DTZ having previously worked within the Building Surveying department for the Borough of Hounslow. Michael has extensive experience in all building surveying fields including Residential Building Surveys, Dilapidations, Contract Administration, Party Wall matters and Reinstatement Cost Assessments.

Michael undertakes Building Surveys for residential property utilising his technical knowledge to provide in depth assessment of the building’s pathology prior to acquisition.

Alongside Building Surveys, Michael specialises in the delivery of professional advice in relation to dilapidations. This involves providing dilapidations advice to both landlords and tenants, including developing bespoke strategies and undertaking early assessments to assist in the decision making process.

James qualified as a professional member in 2008 having entered into the surveying profession through the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors’ training trust (CSST). James has worked in the local property market with an independent surveying practice prior to joining the company. James is the head of our Party Wall team.

James has extensive experience in party wall matters and neighbourly matters and has been involved in a wide range of projects including; residential extensions, loft conversions and basement extension/conversion works acting for both Building and Adjoining Owner’s. James deals with the prospective planned works, producing pre-works condition schedules and Party Wall Awards. James has also acted as lead surveyor on development schemes for developers and Housing Associations.

James is an experienced Building Surveyor and has worked with clients ranging from Housing Associations, block management companies and individual private clients preparing specifications for minor and major works, administering cyclical repair and maintenance programmes and producing planned maintenance reports. Through these projects James has provided relevant and prudent advice whilst still maintaining and providing effective management of the works.

Alongside these professional services, he also provides detailed pre-acquisition advice within Building Survey reports to prospective purchasers of residential properties utilising his technical knowledge of residential property and experience within the local property market.




Sylvia Witney – Senior Associate

RICS Registered Valuer

Sylvia qualified in 2007 and specializes in the residential property field providing pre-acquisition advice to our clients in the form of RICS Condition Reports, RICS Homebuyer Reports and Market Valuations as an RICS Registered Valuer in compliance with the RICS Red Book Guidance.

Prior to joining the company in 2014, Sylvia spent over 10 years with Colleys Surveyors (now the surveying arm of the Lloyds Banking Group) providing pre-acquisition surveys and secured lending advice for private clients and high street lending institutions. She has extensive experience within the local residential field and takes particular interest in sustainability and emerging environmental technological advances.

David Thompson – Senior Surveyor

David joined the Wonnacotts in 2015 having spent 7 years as a Senior Domestic Energy Assessor. Through this role he conducted Domestic Energy Assessments within specific statutory regulations on property for sale and rent. During this time he obtained an ABBE Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment and Diploma in Surveying Practice(DipSurvPract) from the College of Estate Management. The role involved carrying out measured surveys on property in line with RICS guidelines and liaising with clients to explain the results of the EPC assessment.

As an Associate member of the RICS David provides pre-acquisition surveys for our clients in the residential market in the form of RICS Condition and Homebuyer reports. Alongside these, David provides Market Valuations in compliance with the RICS Red Book for; Inheritance Tax Purposes, Capital Gains Tax liability, Matrimonial matters and also Shared Ownership.

David is a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and as such provides professional advice in all party wall matters to our clients, he works as part of the neighbourly matters team focused within the local residential property market. He has been involved as both adjoining and building owners surveyor and has been appointed by private residential clients and also Housing Associations to provide the necessary suitable advice. David has dealt with residential extension works including loft conversions, rear extensions and basements alongside some larger development schemes.


Sam Littman – Surveyor 

Member of Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors (MFPWS)

Sam joins Wonnacotts having spent the past eleven years working in the local residential sales and lettings marketplace during which time he held a number of positions including management of offices in both sales and lettings within the Richmond borough.

Sam is a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and currently undertaking further professional qualification  through SAVA to obtain his Assoc RICS. At present Sam is focused within the Party Wall division of the company providing advice of all matters.


Nicholas Kyriacou – Surveyor

Associate Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (AssocRICS)

Nick joins Wonnacotts having spent the majority of his career working within the residential sales and lettings industry. During this time he has been responsible for managing several branches for Townends and Halifax throughout London and the South West.

Nick is qualified as an Associate Member of the Royal Intitution of Chartered Surveyors  AssocRICS and is now undertaking further  professional  qualification with the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors membership.



Maureen Ferguson – Personal Assistant

Maureen joined Rob at the beginning of August 2012 and has been instrumental in providing Rob with the support which has enabled the company to continue to grow. Maureen is personal assistant to Rob and is also involved in the marketing and advertising of the company.

Maureen oversees the company administration and provides the initial contact with our clients and oversees the day to day office operations and keeps the business running.

She has a strong background in Event Management, Estate Agency and Business Development within the Hotel Sector.


Nicky O’Reilly, Liz Adams and Bryony Roberts  – Administration and Accounts Assistants

Nicky, Liz and Bryony provide all the necessary support to enable our surveyors to carry out the surveys efficiently and effectively. They provide the much needed support within the offices and also make sure that things run smoothly. Both are on hand to maintain good client relationships, they will often be the first point of contact and will do their best to assist in all aspects of the process.


Tony Wonnacott – Senior Consultant

Fellow of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS)

Tony is a highly experienced surveyor with over 40 years as an RICS qualified surveyor. He is now focused on providing residential property appraisal and valuation advice for the company.

Tony has vast professional experience and during his career was Chief Surveyor for Nationwide Building Society. During his career, he has served on the board of Quality Street, a registered social landlord and on the board of Planned Regeneration of the Built Environment (PROBE) a government backed initiative into strategy and planning policy.

With the wealth of experience he holds, Tony is able to provide the company with an effective overview of project timings and assist in the satisfactory implementation and management of projects and future initiatives.
